This weekend we went to the Oakland Children's Holiday Parade. We do this event every year and it's always really fun. We arrived at the Marriott Convention Center at 10:00 AM and we ended up going to Starbucks to get snacks. It was a bit complicated because they changed a lot this year and we had to re-sign up for holding the banners. We found out we had to wear elf costumes (unlike last year) and we weren't the most excited. It was ok though because we were all embarrassed together. We had to wear tights, elf shoes, a vest, and a hat. Each pair walked through the parade holding a banner. When we got to the end, we returned the banners and got rides back to the Marriott from convertibles that had costumed characters sitting on the back. Overall, it was really freezing cold but it was a pretty embarrassing but fun experience.
